16th October 2017 – BrightonPHP’s 5th Birthday, with Tibor Besze on Laravel
It’s 5 years ago this month that Rich Sage hosted the first ever meetup of BrightonPHP, and thanks to our members – that’s people like you – we’re still going strong. If you’re a long-time member, or someone wondering whether they should come along for the first time, you are the user group.
It’s therefore entirely fitting that this month we welcome a regular member of the group, Tibor Besze giving his first talk, A Brief Introduction to Laravel. Join him and us on the evening of Monday 16th October at The Student Room Group, for that and to celebrate our birthday! As usual, the talks will kick off around 7pm, but by popular request, our generous hosts at The Student Room have agreed that people can start arriving from 6:15pm if they want to socialise between leaving the office and the official start.
We look forward to seeing you all there; and by the way, if you haven’t joined our Facebook group or signed up to our mailing list, why not go ahead and do that too?
Tibor Besze – A Brief Introduction to Laravel
Laravel is one of the hottest web application frameworks out there. Reaching over 35000 stars on Github, it clearly deserves attention in the PHP community. But what is the “Laravel-hype” all about? Just hold my beer ‘til I explain.
Tibor is a self-taught Web Developer at Drone Doctor, responsible for planning, developing, testing and deploying web applications in a fast growing industry. With a passion for learning about new web technologies, he spends an unreasonably long time on the internet, digging through documentations and learning materials.
Plus – BrightonPHP’s 5th Birthday!
Half a decade of teaching each other and welcoming great speakers from around the world seems like something worth celebrating, so there will be cake, balloons, clowns, a bouncy castle… OK, maybe not all those things… But let’s celebrate anyway!
And in case you’re wondering, we’ve got more great talks lined up over the coming months, and hopefully for many years still to come, so watch this space!
