Ho ho ho and all that! This month, we wanted to do something a bit special for Christmas, so on Monday 18th December, we’ll be meeting up not at our usual venue, but at Holiday Taxis on Black Lion Street (details below) for a night of festive cheer, mince pies, and teaching Alexa Christmas carols … or something like that. Come along any time from 6PM, bring a laptop, and let’s see what we can put together. Read More

November is rushing by, and we’re looking forward to another great meetup on Monday 20th November at The Student Room offices; as announced last month, you can arrive from 18:15, with talks starting around 19:00. In a slight change from some listings, we are pleased to welcome Ian Thomas who will be Introducing Peer Review (Even if Your Boss is a Git), and then we’ll have a chance to discuss How You Work.

If you’ve not been before, you can find details of the venue here; you can keep in touch by signing up to our mailing list or joining our Facebook group where you can also tell us your coming and invite your friends . We hope to see you there! Read More

It’s 5 years ago this month that Rich Sage hosted the first ever meetup of BrightonPHP, and thanks to our members – that’s people like you – we’re still going strong. If you’re a long-time member, or someone wondering whether they should come along for the first time, you are the user group.

It’s therefore entirely fitting that this month we welcome a regular member of the group, Tibor Besze giving his first talk, A Brief Introduction to Laravel. Join him and us on the evening of Monday 16th October at The Student Room Group, for that and to celebrate our birthday! As usual, the talks will kick off around 7pm, but by popular request, our generous hosts at The Student Room have agreed that people can start arriving from 6:15pm if they want to socialise between leaving the office and the official start.

We look forward to seeing you all there; and by the way, if you haven’t joined our Facebook group or signed up to our mailing list, why not go ahead and do that too? Read More

This month, on Monday 18th September, we’ll be attempting to answer the big questions relating to PHP and development in general. Please come along and join us, share your thoughts, and hear what everyone else has to say, from 18:45 at The Student Room offices, right by Brighton station. Don’t forget to drag your friends and colleagues along too and let us know you’re coming on Facebook. As always, please e-mail any feedback about BrightonPHP to feedback@brightonphp.org. Read More
