For August’s meetup, we decided to open the floor to all of you, and hold an open discussion. It was a sunny Monday in August, and after a few games of “PHPingPong” in the offices of our regular hosts The Student Room, we headed to the pub garden at the Battle of Trafalgar. There we discussed the perils of being a programmer in a businessman’s world, the pros and cons of microservices, and the importance of everyone in a team using git the same way.
We hope you’ve all been enjoying the weather and the Olympics, and look forward to seeing you all next month on Monday September 19th. We hope to update you with details of talks soon, but maybe one of those talks could be you? If you’ve got something interesting you’d like to share with your peers as a 20 minute talk, please do get in touch. Read More

This month’s meeting is on third Monday of the month, at our usual venue provided by The Student Room, but this month we have something a bit different: a video from the great NomadPHP “virtual user group” of Matthew Setter talking about Powerful & Flexible SQL Generation — Without the Hassle. There will be free beer, pizza and technical chat as always, and we’d like have pizza and discuss changes to the group. It would be great to get people’s feedback about changes coming in, ideas and future talks people would like to see. Read More
