How time flies! It’s just one week until our next regular meetup, on Monday 21st November, and we have another two great talks for you! The wonderful Derick Rethans returns with a look at PHP 7 – and 7.1 – and our own Marcus Griffith-Boyes will be explaining how he used his Rasperry Pi to track his cats!
Plus of course, a great chance to chat to other local PHP folks over beer and pizza, provided for us by our hosts at The Student Room Group. Let us know you’re coming on Lanyrd.com, or on the Facebook event; send us some feedback by e-mail or start a debate on our Facebook group; or just come along on the night. Read More
Thanks to everyone that came along on Monday, it was good to see so many faces old and new; and a big thanks of course to our two speakers! We hope to see lots of you again next month, on Monday 21st November, where we hope to have great talks from Derick Rethans on PHP Read More
Hello Brighton PHPers!
The summer may be slipping behind us, but don’t despair, we’ve got not one but two great talks for you on Monday 17th October, as well as the usual beer and pizza courtesy of our wonderful hosts The Student Room Group.
Jose Barrera from the University of Sussex will be joining us to talk about using Git in a distributive way, and Rik Heywood from POD Point and Team Absence will be talking about how he built a commercial side project – on the tube! Read on for more details, or just turn up and join in! While you wait, let us know you’re coming on Lanyrd.com, or on the Facebook event; and even if you can’t make it why not join the new BrightonPHP Facebook group? Read More
For August’s meetup, we decided to open the floor to all of you, and hold an open discussion. It was a sunny Monday in August, and after a few games of “PHPingPong” in the offices of our regular hosts The Student Room, we headed to the pub garden at the Battle of Trafalgar. There we discussed the perils of being a programmer in a businessman’s world, the pros and cons of microservices, and the importance of everyone in a team using git the same way.
We hope you’ve all been enjoying the weather and the Olympics, and look forward to seeing you all next month on Monday September 19th. We hope to update you with details of talks soon, but maybe one of those talks could be you? If you’ve got something interesting you’d like to share with your peers as a 20 minute talk, please do get in touch. Read More
